Each year\, over 400 children in 1st -12th grades are enrolled in the Tutoring Program and need an adult volunteer to encourage success through homework assistance and personal development. \nThe 2019-2020 Tutoring year begins in October\, and Chicago Lights is looking for volunteers to be permanent tutors and substitutes. In order to start volunteering\, we require all new volunteers to attend one of our New Volunteer Orientation sessions to learn about the program and the volunteer opportunities available in more depth. You can reserve your spot at the following orientations by choosing a date in the drop down box here: \n\nThursday\, September 5th\, 6:00-7:30pm\nTuesday\, September 10th\, 6:00-7:30pm\nThursday\, September 12th\, 6:00-7:30pm\nMonday\, September 16th\, 6:00-7:30pm\nTuesday\, September 24th\, 6:00-7:30pm\nTuesday\, October 15th\, 6:00-7:30pm\nTuesday\, November 5th\, 6:00-7:30pm\nMonday\, December 2nd\, 6:00-7:30pm\nWednesday\, January 15th\, 6:00-7:30pm\nTuesday\, February 4th\, 6:00-7:30pm\nTuesday\, March 3rd\, 6:00-7:30pm\nMonday\, March 23rd\, 6:00-7:30pm\n\nDuring the orientation session\, program staff will provide volunteers with information regarding the history of the program and the children it serves\, the various programs and classes offered to students and tutors\, the volunteer opportunities available and how one is matched with a student. \n\nReservations are encouraged\, but not necessary.
