What better place to do it than at our beloved neighborhood hotspot\, Barcocina. Only fitting given Cinco de Mayo is just two days prior…here’s the scoop: \n*Open bar from 3pm – 6pm includes beer\, wine\, margaritas\, and mint juleps (obviously) \n*Cost: $45 ($38 for drinks\, $7 for gratuity for the Barcocina waitstaff) \n*Attire is Kentucky Derby…look it up and let’s get classy! \nWe’ll take a party break briefly to appropriately welcome our newest nonprofit partner\, Kids Above All\, and celebrate our relationship moving forward. DESCRIPTION:Click here to sign up!\n			\n				\n				\n				What’s the Scoop?\n  \n			\n				\n				\n				Join Urban Initiatives to celebrate the resiliency of the youth engaged in our programs.\nUrban Initiatives is dedicated to creating fun and collaborative spaces to build strong social-emotional (SEL) skills\, connection and resilience among students. After two years fraught with so many challenges\, we wanted to be sure to create a space to celebrate our students. \nLet’s unlock the power of play together.\nJoin UI for a return to the Midway Plaisance! This day will feature small-sided soccer games\, recess games\, arts & crafts\, lunch and of course\, our annual awards presentation and dance party on the ice rink. You don’t want to miss out! \nVolunteer roles include: \n\n\n\nCoaching\nWe’ll have about 30 small-sided 5 v 5 soccer games at one time and we’ll need some coaches to cheer on our kids and monitor goals. Absolutely no soccer experience is required. \nSet Up\nThe UI staff team will arrive at 7am to get everything set up on the fields. The park is big and we’ll definitely need support to make sure we have everything ready by 9am. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRecess Support\nOur students love recess games and we’ll be playing some classics out on the field. We’ll need some volunteers to monitor the games and maybe even participate in the fun! \nClean Up\nAfter the party is over\, we’ll have to take down all of our equipment and make sure there is no garbage left at the park. We’ll need some help until 3pm to get everything cleaned up. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nLunch Support\nThere will be about 600 students and 200 volunteers at the event. We’ll need to pass out lunches to everyone and we’ll definitely need some extra support to get it done in time. \n\n\n\n\nHype Squad\nThis is definitely the highlight of our season for all of our students.
